Welcome to Charney Lodge!
This mini-web-site is all about the Lodge and the great things near-bye,
One section is called "My Secret Garden" because we have over 25 varieties of
Plants, Flowers and Herbs. The local birds love it too.
Another section talks about Grange-over-Sands because it is such a lovely place to be!
Places like the Prom, the Hospice and the fells make this place magical.
Welcome to a bit of the real England

As you get away from the tumult of London you get a chance to hear the sounds and
enjoy the sights of
William Blake's "green and pleasant land"
Grange-over-Sands is a lovely and charming seaside retreat.
Once it was a small fishing village nestled between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay,
Because of the Furness Railway the Edwardians flocked here and made it a fashionable seaside resort.

Welcome to my Secret Garden

In May 1941, Grange was bombed as so many were during WW-II.
There is an OAP care home on the site now but in May 1941
Yewbarrow Lodge - the home of Colonel and Mrs Porritt and
seven children evacuated from Salford (near Manchester) was set ablaze.
Grange remembers the spirit of those times and the courage of the people of our town.
