How We Work ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Back around 1975, Marcy Syms used to advertise: “An educated consumer is our best customer". We agree! If you have not already done so, we suggest that this might be a good time to click on the link "About Solar Panels". Get a sense of what these things really are and how they work. Then we suggest you look at the link "Solar is a Money Maker!" to explore the economics involved. The link to "Benefits" takes you to a page that discusses the environmental issues that make solar such an attractive approach. Once you are comfortable with words like Photovoltaic and Inverter much of this will feel less intimidating! Want to know more? Something we forgot to cover? Please feel free to ask as many questions as you would need. There are no "dumb" questions - just folks who forgot to ask! Phone, eMail, carrier pigeon - we’ll help any way that works for you! ![]() Now it is time for some homework - pulling together things we need to help us help you! Click here to see the Information CheckList ![]() Now we roll up our sleeves and think about the Engineering involved . . . An Engineering proposal takes into account: A. The amount of available sunlight [Long Island has lots] There is something called an Insolation map to guide us. Just in case you were wondering, "Insolation" is the average amount of solar radiation that reaches a given place. Naturally, onto every PV panel a little rain will fall. Still, over the course of a year, these average figures tend to be a useful guide. B. The available unobstructed, unshaded roof area on your structure For initial conversations, we find that Web site: maps.google.com is very useful here. We can walk around the property and talk to you as we both see it from a satellite photo! For precise work, there is still no substitute to a good pair of eyes an insightful observer. We come, and we do a site survey. Only then can we make a good recommendation! We’ll review your Information CheckList, and take careful note of engineering details. C. We’ll review for you the pros and cons of various PV styles There are several types and they vary in efficiency and appearance. We will help you arrive at a solution that fits your needs and budget. Permits, Financing, Installation all follow ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We check to see that all work was done properly and that the system is performing up to specifications. |
